Millsaps fraternity and sorority life is a thriving mix of social, academic, and service-oriented activities. There are six fraternity and six sorority chapters at Millsaps. The chapters are all members of well-established national/international Greek-letter organizations. Policies governing fraternity and sorority life are formulated through the Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, and National Pan Hellenic Council.

What are Greek letter organizations?
Many honor societies, recognition societies, and social organizations bear Greek letter names; however, Greek letter social organizations, commonly referred to as fraternities for men and sororities for women, are organizations which are general in a socially-developing nature, not specific to area of study or career path.
Greek letter social organizations have existed at American colleges since 1776, with the founding of Phi Beta Kappa - the first American fraternity. They have existed at Millsaps since 1892, with the founding of Kappa Alpha Order.
